• Our history

The Clubb business was founded in 1930, and In The early days sand and gravel was hand dug at Wilmington near Dartford the present head office site.

The company soon recognised the increasing demand for aggregates during the rebuilding after the Second World War. Land and farms were acquired, sometimes on the instinct of “Jim” Clubb, who always had a ‘nose’ for sand and gravel bearing land.

The addition of a Marine Aggregate Wharf, and two Ready-mixed Concrete plants in the early to mid-1970s, enabled the Company to benefit from the major Motorway construction program taking place throughout Kent.

The Company has always taken pride in being self-sufficient and all operations associated with the end products have been undertaken directly using company resources from extraction to delivery.

In 2021, the Clubb family business was entrusted to AGAR Holding BV, another longstanding family business with many years of experience in the manufacture and supply of building products internationally, the group’s brands in the UK already include Remix Dry Mortars Limited. Now Clubb Sand and Gravel Limited, and Clubb Concrete Limited, have joined the family, and we are committed to continue to reinvest in the business, in terms of new acquisitions, asset replacement, and in in the colleagues that work with us.

The Company has tremendous development potential, and we look forward to further extending the range of products and services on offer, and one statement that will continue to carry the Company through is “Do it right” for our customers and community.
